The Agricampus Var establishment announces several new features, including the creation of defense classes and a new billiards option for the baccalaureate.
The agricultural education establishment Agricampus Var, located in Hyères, presents a series of educational innovations and events for the end of May. These initiatives mark a desire to expand its training offering by joining forces with new partners, whether military or sporting, and to strengthen its territorial roots.
Defense classes, a regional first
In partnership with several military units, Agricampus Var announces the opening of three “defense classes” simultaneously within its training courses, which constitutes a first in agricultural education in the region. The stated objective is to transmit to young people the values of citizenship and the Republic.
An official convention signing ceremony will be held on May 21 at 2 p.m. It will bring together Patrice Chazal and Jean-François Brisse for the DRAAF PACA (Regional Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Forestry), the commanders of the departmental gendarmerie group, the 54th artillery regiment (54RA) and the Naval Air Base d’Hyères, as well as the students of the CAP classes, SAPAT professional baccalaureate (Services To People and Territories) and second general classes, alongside the management of the establishment.
Billiards, a new option for the baccalaureate
The other major innovation is the introduction, from the start of the 2026 school year, of a “Sports and Physical Practice option, Billiards option”. Students will be able to choose this discipline to obtain additional points for the baccalaureate. Agricampus Var will thus become the only high school in France to offer this option, which aims to develop the qualities of concentration, strategy and precision.
The official inauguration of this new offer will take place on May 28 at 5:45 p.m. in the establishment’s foyer. Invited are the president of the Billard Club de L’Estagnol association, the presidency of the Board of Directors, the management of Agricampus Var, as well as the mayors of Hyères and La Crau. The program includes a graduation ceremony, a demonstration tournament and the official launch of the option.
Last orientation meeting before the start of the school year
Before these new features, the establishment is organizing a final day dedicated to orientation on May 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event is open to all and represents a final opportunity before the summer to discover all the training offered, whether through school, apprenticeship or for adults undergoing retraining. The courses cover various fields such as horticultural production, the environment, viticulture and the general baccalaureate.
A major player in training in PACA
Agricampus Var is a public educational establishment placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. Spread across two sites, in Hyères and Arcs-sur-Argens, it has established itself as a reference in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The institution brings together two high schools offering courses ranging from CAP to BTS (general, technological and professional baccalaureate), a Professional Training and Agricultural Promotion Center (CFPPA) for adults, and an educational farm. Every year, hundreds of young people and adults are trained in professions related to life, the environment, agriculture and sustainable development.
