The night from Saturday to Sunday was marked in South Lebanon by serial air raids on South Lebanon, and mainly on the Nabatiyé region, where a Civil Defense center was completely destroyed in an Israeli bombardment. Since the start of Sunday morning, Israeli attacks have continued one after the other and a missile launched from a drone on the main road linking Zahrani to Nabatiyé left one dead and one injured, according to our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah.
Around 11 p.m. Thursday, several raids targeted the Lebanese Civil Defense center in Nabatiyé, completely destroying the building and ambulances. The center had previously been evacuated, and the strike did not cause any casualties. The General Directorate of Civil Defense condemned this raid against “a center dedicated to humanitarian and relief operations” and affirmed that it will continue its mission despite the risks.
Other attacks were reported last night in the Nabatiyé region by our correspondent’s sources and in particular on the “neighborhood of the nuns” (rahbate) as well as a stone quarry at the entrance to the town, Kfartebnit, Toul, Habbouche, the outskirts of Kfarremmane, Arabsalim and Nabatiyé el-Faouqa. The economic zone of Marj Harouf was hit by three airstrikes and artillery fire which destroyed several shops and businesses and caused large fires.
In the district of Tyre, Majdel Zoun and Mansouri were bombed as well as Toura. In this village, a mother and her son were injured and the family’s daughter remains missing. And in Srifa, an air raid killed two people.
The army also carried out further blasting in Khiam, in the eastern sector.
For its part, Hezbollah claimed a nighttime attack with a “salvo of rockets” on military vehicles in Bayada, on the coast south of Tyre.
The death toll from Saturday’s Israeli strike on Sir el-Gharbiyé has also increased further, to nine dead, including six women and a child, six injured and two missing.
The ceasefire concluded in mid-April in Washington and then extended twice did not put an end to Israeli bombings on South Lebanon and the Bekaa, nor to Hezbollah attacks on Israeli forces occupying Lebanese territory or in northern Israel. Since March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have left more than 3,000 dead.
