While waiting for the release of season 3 ofHouse of the Dragon on HBO Max, new posters have been revealed, to help you find your way around.
For several years, HBO has explored at length and breadth the fanciful and bloody universe of George RR Martin, the writer behind Game of Thrones. It’s rather a good thing when it gives rise to excellent surprises, like the series A Knight of the Seven Kingdomas surprising as it is refreshing. Other stories should be put on screen, particularly in cinema, since a film on Aegon the Conqueror is coming.
But before dedicating to new stories, a series is already in the works: House of the Dragonwith the worst family in the universe at the center of its plot, the tender Targaryens. As fans eagerly await season 3, especially after the trailer released last April, HBO revealed a nice quantity of posters dedicated to the main (and less main) characters, all in a bad state.
House of the Dragon on fire
The 18 new posters for season 3 of House of the Dragon show the characters in not so good statesclearly battered by the events of the Dance of Dragons. It is obvious that this series will not end in a happy end candy pink, already because it’s not the kind of story told by George RR Martin, and especially because the fall of the Targaryen family is already well present in Game of Thronesalmost 170 years later.
This new season will be an opportunity to find several of the characters present on the posters and at the heart of the intrigues of the Targaryens, like Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and his enemy brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), or even Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) ready to do anything to reign. We must also expect that certain newcomers will take an important place in the rest of the story, comme Ormund Hightower interprété par James Norton.
Season 3 of the series should take us ever further forward in the war of the Dance of Dragonsalready well underway. In addition to the two main camps, the Greens (behind Alicent Hightower) and the Blacks (behind Rhaenyra), a third camp could take place in struggles for power. Obviously, the rivalry between the brothers Aemond and Aegon is far from over and the forced flight of the fallen king risks enraging him even more.
The diffusion of season 3 of House of the Dragon will start on June 22 on HBO Max in France, with 8 episodes spread out until the beginning of August. And as a reminder, the series will end with season 4in 2028, so the end is near.
