The Belgian 4×4 lived up to its reputation. Always present at the finals, the Belgian Tornados added another medal to their impressive record. Twice crowned in an indoor world championship, our compatriots could not resist an American team led by world record holder Khaleb McRae.

Jonathan Sacoor launched our relay in the best possible way. Like in the mixed relay, Jo controlled the competition to send Christian Iguacel in first position. The athlete from Roulers did his best to resist Chris Robinson but could only limit the damage. Compared to the US rockets, because the other nations were already far behind. And the podium was almost guaranteed. Julien Watrin ran a strong relay to secure the second Belgian place. Alexander Doom finished the job. The former indoor world champion crossed the line in 3’03”29, a good distance behind the simply untouchable American quartet (3’01”52). Jamaica finished 3rd (3’05”99).

The Tornados brought a third medal to the Belgian delegation in these indoor world championships in Torun. After the title in the mixed 4x400m and Eliott Crestan‘s silver in the 800m.

For their 39th final in a major championship, the Belgians secured a 23rd medal. In their history of indoor World Championships, it is the 5th medal for the Belgian Tornados: two golds (2022 and 2024), two silvers (2010 and 2026), and one bronze (2018).
