Who is Jean-Baptiste Pichon? Some will recognize his face, his name, but his talent is already well known. Born in Pertuis, this conductor was trained at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne and will present his master’s degree in June 2026. “Very attached to my roots and to the promotion of culture in the territory of southern Luberon and the country of Aix, I will go with the orchestra to meet audiences further from classical music, in towns to which symphony orchestras rarely go” comments the conductor.
A chamber orchestra from the Luberon
This orchestra is a creation directed by Jean-Baptiste Pichon and has 18 musicians. Their wish is to reach out to rural audiences, disadvantaged neighborhoods and young people in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region.
This is how by reaching out to these audiences, they will offer moments of exchange through adapted presentations, questions from the public, in simplicity and sharing, around ambitious programs and of the highest artistic level.
A Luberon chamber orchestra, in residence at the conservatory, is also preparing a concert, A saxophone in Provence. And already two concerts are to be discovered, on May 23 at 7:30 p.m., Charity Chapel in Pertuis and on May 24 at 4 p.m. at the conservatory auditorium in Manosque.
