Speaking this weekend after the announcement of the complaint filed by Flavie Flament, Patrick Bruel made it known that he wanted to fight in court pour “shedding light” on the accusations made by the former host of Télématin. “She’s done it before.”he underlined, referring to the investigations closed without follow-up after the filing of the first complaints in 2019. “I will continue to do my job, with the same dedication and the same passion”added the artist now aged 67. But things seem to be getting complicated for him. The Gestev agency canceled on Tuesday, May 19, the three Patrick Bruel concerts planned for December at the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec, citing the current context. In France, several mayors, including Emmanuel Grégoire and Benoît Payan, publicly asked Patrick Bruel to “putting one’s career on hold” time to let justice take effect.

Patrick Bruel: after the performance, the spectators no longer get up to applaud him as they did at the beginning

At the Édouard VII theater where he currently plays with Stéphane Freiss and Marine Delterme, in Part twoa play by Samuel Benchetrit, the husband of Vanessa Paradis, the signs of tension and unease multiply, tells The Parisian in its edition of Thursday May 21. When it’s time to bow, at the end of the play, the spectators no longer stand up to applaud the actor as was the case during the first performances, reveals everyday life. The artist does not seem in the best of shape, our colleagues describe him bundled up in a yellow sweater: “he seems tired, his face is puffy and scarred.” When he calls his comrades back on stage, they “take a little time to come back“.

The actor must perform the play until June 7, and all the tickets have been sold. If there is no question of canceling, the director of the room does not hide the fact that the current situation is spoiling the party a little. “We just celebrated the 100th here, usually we go to the restaurant, but we stayed here. Between us, we had a drink, no more.” Patrick Bruel celebrated his birthday on May 14, and the director adds: “Normally, we do something, we drink champagne. Nothing, he’s not in the mood for that.”

Patrick Bruel’s sentence which does not go unnoticed in the play

The spectators are therefore there, but the accusations surrounding the singer are starting to colonize people’s minds. “Of course, that’s all we talk about, admits an octogenarian. But we had the places for a long time.” Two friends who came together are questioned, one of them admits: “It would have been today, I wouldn’t have taken the places, but we had them. Personally, I thought about it during the play, especially when he talks about love.” On the stage, one of the actor’s replicas finds a “special echo”: “We cannot force people to love”. The other spectator speaks in turn: “I didn’t feel super comfortable too, and he looked bad”. Others, fans of the singer and actor, say they have not once asked themselves the question of canceling. For them, there remains one “great artist”. A woman even dares to assert, like Anny Duperey, not long ago, that it is the singer “who should have filed a complaint for harassment during Bruelmania”.

The director of the Edouard VII theater says she listens to spectators and ensures that they can be reimbursed if they so desire. For the moment, the movement is in the minority, only around twenty people have requested it. On the other hand, “sometimes people don’t show up”. The Parisian confirmed. While it was impossible to find seats for the play on sale last Friday, some seats remained empty when the curtain rose on Tuesday.
