Ladies, (SANA)Â Â The activities of the Kurdish Culture Days Festival ended this Sunday evening in Damascus, after five days of artistic performances placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture. The AŸti and Lamasat troupes presented musical scenes and folk dances highlighting the traits of Kurdish heritage within Syrian diversity, ranging from traditional dances to improvised rhythmic performances reflecting the authentic presence of Kurdish culture in the Syrian identity.

Idris Mourad, event supervisor, told SANA that this festival represented a dream come true for the first time on stage, offering an authentic Syrian expression blending lectures, theater, cinema and Kurdish art. He highlighted the strong interaction of the public in the room and on social networks, testifying to the success of the experiment and the absence of linguistic barriers between Syrians and their diverse cultures.
 Syrian culture as a “multicolored precious stone”
Mourad described Syrian culture as a multi-colored gem, emphasizing the need for Syrians to discover each other’s heritage, saying it is not acceptable for a resident of one region to ignore the culture of another within the same country.
Proposals for expanding the literary component
Regarding proposals to expand the literary component of the festival, Mourad explained that preparation had lasted four months, coinciding with Kurdish Language Day, which encompasses theater, cinema, poetry and arts. He stressed that the festival had succeeded in giving this occasion unprecedented momentum in the country after years of marginalization.
Testimonials from artists and participants
Mohammad Sayyah Abdelal, supervisor of the Lamasat troupe, highlighted the role of these events in strengthening harmony and affection among Syrians and in bridging cultural gaps. Actor and director Abduljabbar Habib expressed his joy at representing the Kurdish language on a Damascus stage for the first time in decades, saying that art has the ability to bring hearts together.
Public opinion
Among the spectators, Malek al-Fawaz considered that the festival was rich and of high quality, calling for increasing the number of activities. Yasmine Suleiman requested an improvement in technical aspects, particularly the power supply, in order to avoid the breakdowns that occurred during certain performances.

The festival’s activities began last Wednesday in celebration of the Kurdish language and its cultural heritage, through an artistic and cultural program presenting for the first time in Damascus various Kurdish experiences in literature and the arts.
