This Sunday, May 17, glamor was once again on display on the Croisette for the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Under the flashes of photographers gathered in front of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, international stars and key figures of French cinema competed in elegance to attend the screenings of Moulin by László Nemes et de Warranty by Jeanne Herry. The first, carried by Gilles Lellouche and Louise Bourgoin, plunges spectators into the heart of the French Resistance through the last days of Jean Moulin. The second follows the chaotic journey of a young actress played by Adèle Exarchopoulos.

Two highly anticipated films which attracted an audience of particularly fashion-inspired personalities. Architectural dresses, mermaid silhouettes, lace plays, sharp tailoring and high jewelry: on the steps, each appearance seemed designed as a true stylistic manifesto. From Carla Bruni to Cate Blanchett, via Bella Hadid and Julianne Moore, celebrities delivered a true lesson in Cannes glamour.

French stars rely on ultra-sophisticated couture silhouettes

Impossible to miss Adèle Exarchopoulos, majestic in a delicate lace burgundy dress. The silhouette, enhanced by a Bardot collar subtly revealing the shoulders as well as a voluminous petticoat, oscillated between gothic romanticism and Hollywood glamor. The actress chose an impeccable ballerina bun to accentuate the elegance of her head and bring an additional touch of sophistication to this remarkable appearance.

For her part, Carla Bruni once again proved that she has mastered the codes of the red carpet to perfection. The former First Lady slipped her silhouette into a mermaid creation by Roberto Cavalli. The white and black zebra dress, extended by a spectacular train, delicately hugged her curves thanks to an ultra glamorous sheath cut. Thin black straps structured the silhouette while Chopard jewelry brought a particularly refined high jewelry dimension. Sylvie Tellier opted for a spectacular look in a sculptural black dress by Stéphane Rolland. With its architectural volumes and impeccable construction, the silhouette imposed an almost theatrical elegance on the Cannes steps. More minimalist but just as effective, Tina Kunakey opted for a long black dress with long sleeves with a refined look. As for Emmanuelle Béart, she broke the codes of classic glamor with a more rock and contemporary silhouette composed of a black leather jacket with a high collar combined with a coordinated pleated skirt and semi-transparent tights.

International stars compete in elegance on the Croisette

International celebrities were not left out. Julianne Moore captivated eyes in a carmine red dress with a Bardot collar falling delicately on the shoulders. A glamorous and timeless silhouette reminiscent of the heyday of classic Hollywood. Always impeccable on the red carpet, Cate Blanchett opted for a backless black dress enhanced with colorful floral patterns. A sophisticated creation combining minimalism and couture details, perfectly in keeping with the refined aesthetic of the Oscar-winning actress. Finally, Bella Hadid has once again electrified the Croisette. Invited by Chaumet, of which she is the ambassador, Gigi Hadid’s sister slipped her silhouette into a white strapless dress by Prada. Satiny and subtly gathered at the neckline, the creation perfectly fitted her silhouette while being distinguished by delicate rhinestones dispersed with finesse. Coming on the arm of her brother Anwar Hadid, Bella Hadid once again confirmed her status as an essential fashion icon of the Cannes Film Festival.
