Flavie Flament’s coming out of silence marked a new turning point in the Patrick Bruel affair. The journalist announced that she was filing a rape complaint against the singer on Friday May 15, 2026. On Instagram, she expressed herself as follows: “10 years after La Consolation, I have a new encounter with my past. And a man who pillaged my adolescence. I am filing a complaint against Patrick Bruel for theft. So that the truth comes out, so that justice is done, so that people stop looking away, I add my voice to those of other women who are speaking out in France, Belgium and Canada. I now expect Justice to hear our Word.” The facts denounced date back to 1991, when she was barely 16 years old while the artist was 31 years old. Flavie Flament was one of the women who testified in Mediapart under the pseudonym “Eva”. Since the affair broke out, three investigations were opened to “attempted rape”, “rape” et “sexual assault”, and around thirty testimonies from women were revealed in the press.
