Ismail Yuksek has reportedly decided to leave Fenerbahçe this summer. Lyon and OM would be among the clubs interested in the Turkish defensive midfielder.
In complicated financial situations, Lyon and OM are nonetheless regularly associated with players on the transfer market. And the two rivals would once again find themselves on the same file.
According to several Turkish media, including Ajansspor, Lyon and OM have both expressed interest in Ismail Yukseka 27-year-old defensive midfielder and 31-time Turkish international, who reportedly confirmed his decision to leave Fenerbahçe this summer. Stuttgart and Brighton would also be in the race.
On the Istanbul side, the news had the effect of a bomb. Favorite of the supporters and pillar of the club, the player’s departure is very badly received, especially since it comes in the middle of an electoral period within the club.
A high price for OM
The Turkish international (31 caps) has been playing for the Istanbul club since February 2021. He has played 156 matches in his colors, including 46 this season. But the combined arrivals of Ngolo Kanté and Mattéo Guendouzi had an impact on his playing time. Yuksek would like to play more.
Two years from the end of his contract, Fenerbahçe will be in a weak position to negotiate. Transfer market nevertheless evaluates the player at 15 million euros, a significant sum for an OM forced to budgetary rigor this summer.
