JAKARTA – The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), through the Jakarta Provincial Directorate of Tourism and Creative Economy (Disparekraf), withdrew the operating permit of two entertainment venues in West Jakarta, namely B Fashion and The Seven, following a drug abuse case that occurred on Saturday, May 9.

Director of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Department Andhika Permata said the retraction of the operating permit was part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to maintaining the safety, order, convenience and quality of the tourism ecosystem and from the time in Jakarta.

He insisted that the Jakarta provincial government will not tolerate tourism spots that have been found to be involved in, left or become places of illicit activities.

“The withdrawal of the operating authorization is a form of firmness in maintaining a tourism ecosystem that is healthy, orderly and of quality,” said Andhika in a statement, Saturday, May 16.

The provincial government insisted that every actor in the tourism sector must respect the provisions of the law, maintain order and comply with the laws of their environment.

Therefore, according to Andhika, internal monitoring by managers is a mandatory thing to do consistently.

“We want to ensure that all tourism businesses in Jakarta become comfortable and safe spaces for people and tourists,” Andhika said.

Andhika said that Disparekraf of DKI Jakarta Province will continue to strengthen monitoring and coordination with law enforcement agencies and relevant institutions. This measure is taken to ensure that all accommodation, entertainment and tourism businesses in Jakarta operate according to current regulations.

“We will continue to strengthen surveillance with law enforcement and related devices. We want Jakarta’s tourism industry to develop in a healthy, orderly manner and with standards that can maintain public trust,” Andhika said.
