RM expressed the importance of getting everyone in the crowd engaged during BTS’s grand return at Gwanghwamun in Seoul for their first group live performance in over three years. The concert, titled “BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang,” was broadcast live on Netflix and featured the group performing songs from their new album “Arirang.” Despite RM’s ankle injury, the show was a massive success, with BTS delivering an electrifying performance to a crowd of eager fans.

The event marked the first time a pop concert was held at Gwanghwamun Square, a historic and symbolic location in Seoul. The choice to perform there was intentional, as the new album “Arirang” explores themes of Korean identity and heritage. The album pays tribute to the Korean folk ballad “Arirang” and incorporates elements of Korean culture throughout the performance.

The live stream on Netflix featured a 23-camera setup to capture the spectacle for fans worldwide. Directed by Hamish Hamilton, the broadcast aimed to transport viewers into the heart of the concert, providing intimate and grand moments alike. With over 1,000 production professionals involved, the show was a massive undertaking that showcased BTS’s global popularity and influence.

BTS will continue their comeback with performances in the U.S., including appearances at a Spotify event and on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The group’s return to the stage after years of solo projects and military service in South Korea has been highly anticipated by their devoted fan base, known as ARMY.
