After being launched by Eye Haïdara, Park Chan-wook and his jury, the opening ceremony will be marked by a first highlight: the presentation of a Palm of Honor to New Zealander Peter Jackson, director of the saga “The Lord of the Rings” and the “Hobbit”, from the hands of its actor Elijah Wood, aka Frodo. Succeeding Juliette Binoche, South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook is president of the jury this year, he who had already taken on the role of juror in 2017 alongside Pedro Almodovar. He is accompanied by Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Chloé Zhao, Diego Céspedes, Isaach De Bankolé, Paul Laberty and Stella Skarsgard.

The Caméra d’or jury is led this year by Canadian actress and director Monia Chokri, surrounded by Marine Francen, Michel Benjamin, Cédric Coppola and Christophe Massie. Finally, Leïla Bekhti was chosen to chair the jury for the Un certain regard category, alongside Angèle Diabang, Laura Samni, Thomas Cailley and Khaled Mouzanar. The jurors will present their prizes during the closing ceremony scheduled for May 23, the evening when Barbra Streisand will receive her Palme d’Honneur.
