A clear victory synonymous with a 29th La Liga title. For the first time in their history, FC Barcelona clinched the title of Spanish champion at the end of a Clasico on Sunday, May 10. In their Camp Nou stadium, the Barcelona team won (2-0) against a Madrid team lacking ideas, highlighting the current gap between the two teams. With three more matchdays to go, FC Barcelona now has a 14-point lead over Real Madrid and cannot be caught.

On Sunday night, without their star Lamine Yamal who was injured in the hamstring, the Blaugrana made the difference from the start of the match. On a superb curling free-kick, Englishman Marcus Rashford beat Thibaut Courtois, back in the Madrid goal for the first time since mid-March, to open the scoring in the 8th minute. Ten minutes later, with an acrobatic and inspired pass backwards from Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres dealt a blow to the players of the Whites by doubling the lead.

Dominating throughout the game, Barcelona did not give Madrid any chance, as they struggled on the field due to the crisis following an altercation between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde earlier in the week. Despite attempts by Vinicius and Brahim Diaz, the Real Madrid players failed to create opportunities and danger. In the absence of Kylian Mbappe, still resting, young Gonzalo Garcia also failed to make a difference. Like last year, Real Madrid will conclude another season without a trophy.
