The opposition group within the Armagnac-Adour community reacts:
“We want to provide our voters with additional information reported in the press on the first month of activity of the Armagnac Adour community of communes.
You know that unlike our project and what is best in Gers Lomagne and lower Armagnac, the majority team led by Stéphane Persoons preferred a political bloc confrontation. They took all the vice-presidencies and 50 representatives in legal commissions and external organizations.
Ignoring the legal deadline, they communicated to us the first elements of the 2026 budget one clear day before the vote. We worked all weekend to identify and correct the typos so that the documents were presentable but none of our substantive comments were accepted. The accountant took responsibility for her errors when this should have been verified by management who failed miserably (president, vice-president and director).
Our substantive questions only received insufficiently reasoned answers concerning the detail of the loan of 871 thousand euros which seems disproportionate. Nothing has been changed concerning the non-provision of care for adolescents even though it has already started, unlike an increase in governance without additional positions, and the weak support for our health center which, contrary to the promises of the election, is planning the disappearance of this service. We intervened in writing with the president to resolve these deficiencies.
In short, a budget far from the seriousness of the budgetary balance orchestrated in previous years under the responsibility of the tandem Michel Petit and Christian Jelonch.”
