Muriel Robin revealed rare confidences about the unique bond she had with the monster of French cinema, Alain Delon. Between admiration and humor, Pierre Palmade’s former friend surprised the public with several unexpected personal anecdotes. Guest on the show What an era!, the actress looked back on her career, her memorable memories and her love life. She notably spoke of Alain Delon with great tenderness and a touch of self-deprecation.
Muriel Robin rewarded and still as sincere
On May 4, Muriel Robin received an honorary Molière to salute her entire career. An important reward for this essential figure of French humor, known as much for his talent as for his outspokenness. Invited on the set of Quelle époque! on May 9, the artist spoke with emotion about this symbolic moment. She took the opportunity to pay tribute to several personalities who have marked her professional life, notably her former press secretary Tony Krantz. Without detour, she also explained why she wanted to mention Pierre Palmade: “If I don’t mention him, I have a memory problem!”, she declared frankly to the guests.
During the show, Muriel Robin also spoke of several striking personal memories. True to her direct style, she spoke about the tuberculosis she contracted during her youth. A confidence made on the set of Léa Salamé, opposite Gérard Holtz and Corinne Touzet. However, it was especially his story about Alain Delon that caught the public’s attention. The comedian humorously revealed that she had one day proposed to the actor. “I even proposed to him,” she said before adding, amused: “But I was lucky, he said no…”. An unexpected confidence which caused many laughs on the set of the show Saturday evening.
A relationship full of admiration and self-deprecation
Muriel Robin did not stop at this first anecdote. She then said that Alain Delon had changed his view of her several years later. “A few years later, he saw me, physically, I had changed,” explained the comedian with amusement. According to her, the actor then confided to her: “Ah, if you had been like that, I might have said yes…”. A remark to which Muriel Robin immediately responded with great mischief: “Yes, but I don’t want to anymore!”. This light and sincere moment perfectly illustrates the special relationship they had, mixing fascination, humor and tenderness. At that time, Muriel Robin was already sharing her life with Anne Le Nen, whom she finally married in February 2021. Very happy in this relationship, the comedian revealed that Alain Delon seemed more interested in his wife than herself. “He was much more interested in my wife than in me…” she confided with irony on the set. Always with humor, she then added: “I would dare to say that Anne, who is not completely ugly, and not completely stupid, preferred me to Alain Delon!”. This anecdote once again triggered laughter from the public. Through these confidences, Muriel Robin shows a more intimate side of her personality, between sincerity, affection and assumed self-deprecation.
