An essential place for walkers, Podebrady (Czech Republic) smiled on the young Loir-et-Chériens. By donning the jersey of the French athletics team for an international U20 match, Lison Charpentier and Mattéo Hénault chased their personal bests over 10 km this Friday, May 8.

Le Vinolien finished in the leading group, with a fifth final. But he missed his personal best by a few seconds, crossing the line in 43’28” (record in 43’24”). Satisfaction however, the silver medal recovered with his Blues teammates before moving towards the main objective of his season: the U18 5 km European Championship, from July 16 to 19 in Rieti (Italy).

Record perso pour Charpentier

Romorantin’s Lison Charpentier fulfilled the objective, with a final sixth place to lead the French delegation and ahead of her four compatriots entered. His first selection will therefore have been a success, “a good experienceâ€with a new benchmark established in 48’03”.

Team silver medalist, Solognote is now aiming for a time under 48 minutes. “We can gain a minute because she struggled in the last two kilometers,” believes his coach Richard Ferrand.
