This May 8, the soldiers of the 3rd Marine Infantry Regiment (3eRIMa) of Vannes organized a solidarity day dedicated to the wounded of the Army. The objective: to collect donations. Some did not hesitate to sweat for a good cause
Today, some were able to test their limits at the port of Vannes. Machines and tests awaited the curious… like Dylan, who chose to test the “tactical soldiers” challenge, an elite course concocted by the porpoises of the 3rd marine infantry regiment of Vannes. With a 10 kg vest on his shoulders, the young man must lie down on the ground, climb, aim with an artificial weapon of war or even cycle. A rather physical course. “It’s true that it’s hard, it tugs on the heart but it feels good in the end!” admitted Dylan.

All day long, the public was invited to test several sports courses for free, directly inspired by crossfit. High-intensity sport that Maxime is a fan of. the routes change because it’s military. These are positions that even in the fitness room we are not used to doing“. And the setting, the port of Vannes, has nothing to displease this sportsman: ” It’s great to do this on the port, the coaches are super nice, it’s a good atmosphere.”
This event was organized in favor of the wounded of the army and their families.
In 2009, Master Corporal Benjamin was shot during an operation in Afghanistan. He was able to benefit from support to help him in his reconstruction and welcomes this type of action. This makes it possible to collect donations which can be distributed and given to different associations which can help the injured or their families, and the families of the deceased as well. This can be for many things, paying for plane tickets, helping to pay for prosthetics, fittings to cars when necessary, depending on the disability. It’s really important to collect these donations because everything is expensive.”

Indispensable help according to battalion chief Pierre, in charge of training at the 3rd RIMa in Vannes. ” We also have psychological injuries which are taken into account in the same way as physical injuries, he specifies, people who are confronted with situations, or post-traumatic syndromes which are hard to follow and sometimes it is these injuries that we see the least which are the most difficult to recover.”
All donations collected during this event will be donated to the aid association Terre Fraternité Ado. In France, in 2025 nearly 1,650 wounded were counted within the army.
