Amiens for its last match of the season against ASSE, has its complete squad, except for long-term injuries, and could even count on Victor Lobry returning from injury.

AS Saint-Étienne hosts Amiens this Saturday (8 pm) for the 34th and final day of Ligue 2. Facing the bottom team, the Verts cannot afford any mistakes: only a victory at Geoffroy-Guichard can keep their hopes alive for direct promotion to Ligue 1.

But ASSE coach Philippe Montanier will have to deal with a severely depleted squad, with seven confirmed absences and five players still uncertain. On the other hand, Amiens counterpart Alain Pochat will have almost a full squad available. Only long-term injured players such as Arvin Appiah, Jan Mlakar, Jérémie Roussillon, and Ibou Sané will be missing.

And Amiens could even welcome back a familiar face to the Chaudron. Victor Lobry, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury on November 1st, could make his return to competition against his former club. This possibility was raised by his coach in the pre-match press conference: “It’s a discussion we must have with everyone, including the medical staff, the physical trainer, and the player. All signs must be positive. He is a hard worker by nature. He is there every morning at 8 a.m. He has worked like crazy to come back. He is even ahead of a normal recovery schedule. Now, is it the right timing or not?”

Context: – Amiens and AS Saint-Étienne face each other in the last game of the season, with different stakes for both teams. – Victor Lobry, injured earlier in the season, may make his return to the field in this match.

Fact Check: – Ligue 1 is the top tier of French football, and teams aim to be promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 for the next season.
