A Hollywood-worthy Setting

Between land and sea, urban and countryside roads, the route captivates with the beauty of the setting. Starting at the English Channel coast, running enthusiasts will venture through the streets of Deauville before passing through several municipalities in the area (Tourgéville, Benerville, Saint-Arnoult) and skirting numerous must-see sites in the region (Deauville casino, Deauville-La-Touques and Deauville-Clairefontaine racecourses). Runners will then head towards the beach to reach the famous Planches de Deauville boardwalk, where cabins bearing the likeness of great American cinema figures can be found. Organized in two loops, the 42.195 km will allow runners to enjoy the stunning landscape twice over and receive multiple cheers from the onlookers.

With only 113 m of elevation gain, the flagship event benefits from a flat course, conducive to performance. The current records are held by Kenyan Titus Kirwa Komen in 2h16’19 (2022) and Ethiopian Negasa Chaltu (2h32’51). Last year, Normans Guillaume Ruel (2h21’44), European record holder for the 50 km, and Sélina Leroy (2h39’56) were the fastest. Serving as a qualifying event for the French Championships (national label), the marathon will see the top French runners in the discipline compete.
