A new feature film directed by Michael Showalter (“Hello, Mom!”) and based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, Verity has unveiled its teaser. The cast includes Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett.
Synopsis
Verity Crawford has always had a charmed life. Her books have made her a bestselling author, her Vermont home is stunning, and she and her husband Jeremy make the perfect couple. But one day, on a road trip, her dream turns into a nightmare. The accident prevents her from writing, turns her too-large house into a prison, and threatens to drive her away from Jeremy. Life has never been kind to Lowen Ashleigh. Her books receive only a polite reception, her finances are in dire straits, and her love affairs are short-lived. Until Jeremy hires her to ghostwrite for Verity and finish her successful series in her place. For Lowen, as surprising as the offer may be, the opportunity is far too good to pass up, and Jeremy is far too attractive for her to say no to. But as Lowen discovers, in Verity’s papers, what appears to be her autobiography, she sees unfold, page after page, the portrait of a dreadful woman, willing to commit the most atrocious of crimes to keep what she has, and quick to engage in all kinds of perversities when she feels threatened.
