When two sports enthusiasts meet, projects are born. Julien, a coach at the Orange Bleue in Soler, and Joëlle, founder of a support space for women affected by all types of cancer in Perpignan, La Maison Entre Parenthèses, joined forces around a common goal: to get moving and strengthen the health of women engaged in the fight against the disease. Thanks to an intergenerational meeting, Julien has developed a weekly schedule allowing to discover various practices in the gym: boxing, Pilates, cardio, and muscle strengthening. Adapting these sessions to the fragility of people affected by the disease is not easy, but this pedagogical challenge is enthusiastically taken up.
For Joëlle, the goal is clear: to prepare her members for the 2026 challenge, sports at altitude, a demanding but stimulating sports challenge.
Today, ten “parentheses” found themselves surrounded by athletes accustomed to gyms, united in effort during a cycling session. Rhythmic by the music and guided by Julien’s advice, they chained movements combining muscle strengthening and cardio in a fun and motivating atmosphere. Congratulations to all: each managed their fatigue and remained independent. It was difficult to leave the room after this moment of sharing, punctuated by symbolic gifts offered to Julien as a sign of gratitude. A beautiful promise for next year.
