At the top of La Redoute, Paul Seixas managed to keep up with the world’s best rider when he launched his expected attack. The 19-year-old from Lyon seemed poised for a remarkable feat since the beginning. After the climb of Les Forges, only the climb of La Roche aux Faucons remained. As the Slovenian rider increased the pace, Seixas stayed close behind. However, with 560 meters to go, 14 kilometers from the finish line, the young French talent couldn’t keep up anymore, ultimately allowing the Slovenian to secure his fourth victory in Liège.

Paul Seixas ultimately finished 45 seconds behind, managing to secure a very impressive second place. This was his first podium in a Monument race, and the second one in his career after finishing 7th in the Tour of Lombardy in October 2025. Far ahead of the group of outsiders led by Evenepoel at 1’41”. Seixas received a handshake from the Slovenian rider as a sign of respect.

At the end of this thrilling La Doyenne race, which started off at a blistering pace with Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora) breaking away in a group of 52 riders just after five kilometers, forcing the UAE team to chase immediately, with assistance from the Decathlon-CMA CGM team, to close a gap of 3’24” before things settled down at 92 kilometers from the finish line.
