Delphine Mazet, the new mayor, opens up.

Elected on the evening of Sunday, March 15 after the first round of municipal elections, the Dynamisons Roquefort list recently took its seat during its very first municipal council meeting in Roquefort.

The team’s objective, which elected Delphine Mazet as mayor, is to make Roquefort a dynamic municipality where it is good to live. Agenaise, Delphine Mazet, who lived in Boé as a child, draws inspiration from her experiences as a citizen to establish a program where “finding childcare services linked to schools is a priority.” A resident of Roquefort for nearly ten years, the first lady who gradually integrated herself into a community where she wanted to make a difference, will now be able to implement her program with the help of her deputies and municipal councilors. The former president of the intergenerational association Roq’Atout’Ages, heavily involved in the associative life of her municipality, wanted to take the step forward following meetings on the ground during various events bringing together people from all walks of life in Roquefort.

“Simple and concrete things, easy to implement”

“We want to make Roquefort more than just a village where people go home after a day of work. It is crucial, and this is the challenge, to ensure that the municipality is dynamic. It is this momentum that will enable a positive virtuous circle, both in terms of well-being and demographically and economically. Everything is connected,” explains Mayor Delphine Mazet.

She wishes to continue certain projects previously initiated, including supporting community associations and offering a market for local producers. Among her projects, it is important to act towards all age groups, from the youngest to seniors, including today’s workforce.

“We will consider simple, concrete things that are easy to implement. The idea of shared gardens seems interesting to me. We will also look to strengthen the involvement of young people through schools in the commemorative ceremonies of May 8th and November 11th, as well as during other more festive occasions. Our priority, which is a major issue, is also to find a doctor to succeed the current doctor who will soon be leaving,” concludes the new first lady of Roquefort, who will also continue to work as a communication project manager at Passage d’Agen.

(Note: Delphine Mazet is the new mayor of Roquefort and plans to implement various projects to make the municipality dynamic and inclusive. She aims to support local associations, promote local producers, and engage residents of all ages in community activities. Mazet also highlights the importance of finding a new doctor for the area.)
