The Orange Fencing Circle is hosting the 4th edition of the Guillaume d’Orange International Handisport Tournament on May 16 and 17 at the Daudet space. “I accepted to take over the presidency of the Circle on the condition that the club turns towards handisport and para-fencing,” confides Brunon Albéro.

15 nationalities and 50 competitors

Thus, starting in 2022, he is organizing the French wheelchair championship for visually impaired at the Antique Center. Such a success that when France was considered to organize an international event, naturally, the French Federation turned to the club in the city of Princes.

“This international event brings together 15 nationalities and 50 competitors who compete with two different weapons,” specifies the president. A logistical feat since the Daudet space is transformed into a true fencing hall. “This involves 80 volunteers” in taking care of the competitors and providing their meals.

A good image for the city

“Beyond the pride for the club, this event is also a good image for the city,” asserts Brunon Albéro. As for the budget, such an organization is subject to strict specifications. “We have partners who, in exchange for visibility, directly participate in the service and others in areas related to disability,” concludes the president.
