Key figures from the cinema and entertainment world attended the funeral of actress Nadia Farès in Paris on Friday, April 24, including director Claude Lelouch who paid tribute to her. Actresses Josiane Balasko and Elsa Zylberstein, director and actor Guillaume Canet, host Nagui, as well as actors François Berléand and Samuel Le Bihan were present to bid a final farewell to the actress at the Saint-Jean-de-Montmartre church.
Claude Lelouch asked those present to give a “standing ovation” to “Nadia,” who had notably starred in his film “Men, Women: A User’s Manual” (1996), according to a participant at the ceremony, which was also attended by journalist Claire Chazal, comedian Gad Elmaleh, and Laeticia Hallyday.
Nadia Farès passed away on April 17 at the age of 57, five days after being found unconscious in a Parisian sports club pool, following a “cardiac incident,” according to her daughters. She was known in France and abroad for her role in the thriller “The Crimson Rivers” in 2000.
Nadia Farès was set to direct her first feature film as a screenwriter and director in September. In an interview in January, she revealed to Gala that she had undergone surgery in 2007 for an aneurysm and three times for heart problems.
