The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed sadness over the death of Dr Uzoma Nwaubani, a US-based physician who passed away during a medical mission in Abia State. In a statement issued by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Dabiri-Erewa described the loss as significant for her family and Nigeria as a whole.

Dabiri-Erewa highlighted that Dr. Nwaubani was a dedicated member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) known for her commitment to giving back through medical missions and outreach programs. She prayed for strength and comfort for the grieving family, friends, and ANPA members, while asking for eternal rest for the deceased. Dr. Nwaubani was in Abia State for a medical mission organized by ANPA but unfortunately passed away due to a medical emergency, despite efforts to save her by the skilled medical team.
