President Trump continues to blow hot and cold with Iran. The American president once again accused the Iranian regime of violating the ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz in a message posted on his Truth Social network on Sunday, April 19. In the same message, Trump announced the dispatch of an American delegation to Islamabad, Pakistan, to restart discussions between Washington and Tehran.
He stated that he was offering Iran a “reasonable deal” and that if Iran refuses, “the United States will destroy all power plants and bridges in Iran.” The composition of the delegation sent by Washington, led by Vice President J.D. Vance, is already known, but Iran has not yet confirmed its participation in these new talks, according to Iranian media.
According to the Fars and Tasnim news agencies, citing anonymous sources, the regime has not made a decision yet. The official Irna agency, on the other hand, states that there is “no clear prospect of fruitful negotiations,” citing, in addition to the naval blockade, Washington’s “unreasonable demands.”
