The Lucie Aubrac high school successfully organized the first edition of its Defense and Security Trades Forum, a major event that fully aligns with the dynamics of the “Engagement and Global Security” program created by Ms. Rauwel, a teacher in Literature-History.
Led by extensive preparation and actively supported by the school’s management team – Ms. Hubert, principal, and Ms. Stewart, assistant principal – the forum aimed to strengthen the link with the National Army, introduce students to defense, security, and public service professions, highlight engagement paths, and develop an event with strong territorial impact. An exceptional mobilization involving highly committed stakeholders contributed to the success of the event. Both the civil and industrial sectors were also represented with the participation of dedicated professionals.
This forum brought together over 750 students, including those from the defense class at Gaston Doumergue College, accompanied by Mr. Ohl and Ms. Vergély. In total, more than 46 speakers from across France led over 20 workshops, allowing students to concretely explore the diversity of careers related to defense and security: military, gendarmerie, police, civil security, justice, health, cybersecurity, engineering, and defense industry. The success of this first edition was based on exemplary collective mobilization. The entire educational community was involved, including school life, staff members, and Ms. Castani, the secretary of the L.U.C.I.E. association. Through rich exchanges and quality speakers, this forum successfully achieved its objectives by offering students an immersive, concrete, and inspiring experience while strengthening the links between school, institutions, and the professional world.
This promising first edition calls for future editions to be continued.
