Cléopâtre Darleux, 36, is bouncing back at a club she knows very well. A new life begins for the former international as she joins Brest’s sports management.
Reconversion. The former iconic goalkeeper of the French national team, Cléopâtre Darleux, has been appointed as the sports director of Brest Handball starting next season, the club announced in a statement on Friday.
Having passed through Brittany as a player for “BBH” between 2016 and 2024, Darleux has been entrusted with “managing the sports direction for the professional section and the training center,” announced president Gérard Le Saint.

Furthermore, the Olympic champion in 2021, aged 36, “will also have the role of club ambassador,” with a mission to “defend the cause of women, in favor of gender equality and the development of women’s sports.”
With Brest, Cléopâtre Darleux won a French championship in 2021, a year where the club also reached the Champions League final and won the French Cup.
The Alsace-born goalkeeper also won the Championship in 2012 with Arvor 29, later becoming BBH after a reorganization. She retired from sports in 2025, after a final season in Metz.
