Attacked by her eldest son

(New York) Victoria Beckham, accused by her son of trying to “control” his life and “ruin” his marriage, responded in an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Thursday that she and her husband David have always sought to “protect” their children.

In a lengthy message posted in January on social media, 27-year-old Brooklyn Beckham, particularly reproached his famous parents for prioritizing the “Beckham brand” over everything else.

According to him, in the weeks leading up to his 2022 marriage to American actress Nicola Peltz, they tried to convince him to “waive” his rights to his name.

When asked by the American newspaper about these accusations, Victoria Beckham, former Spice Girl turned successful fashion designer and businesswoman, defended herself, as did her husband, former captain of the England football team, without explicitly naming their son.

“We have always tried to be the best parents we can be. You know, we have been in the spotlight for over thirty years now, and all we have tried to do is protect our children and love our children,” she said.

“Being a parent of young adults and adults, my God, it’s very different from having young children. I think we are doing our best,” she added.

The Beckhams cultivate an image of a glamorous and close couple in social media and the media, very successful and very close to their three other children.
