To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the association Les Riffs du Lion, various events are planned. It all kicks off with a major highlight, the “Weekend of Music,” before and during the Music Festival. “An outdoor stage will be set up for three days near the Poudrière on Friday, June 19, Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21. With artists who have performed at the concert hall and left their mark, both local and beyond. All in partnership with local associations and Rockhatry,” revealed Marianne Hocquard, the current director of the Poudrière.
On Saturday, June 20, the venue will also be involved in organizing the “Crazy Escape,” an unconventional orienteering race at the citadel.
At the same time, exhibitions will be set up at the Bureau Info Jeunes (Bij) in Belfort, at the Belfortian cafe and salon Chez Céline, at the Poudrière, and at Rockhatry, showcasing archival documents, concert photos, etc., from June to September, as specified by the director.
During the summer period, an “off-site” program will allow for celebrating the association’s 30th anniversary, with new outdoor concerts at Malsaucy on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, the “Guinguette de Rockhatry” on September 19 and 20 for the European Heritage Days, and a solo concert by Charlie Winston at the Maison du Peuple on September 23, organized in collaboration with Moloco.
A major highlight of this anniversary is the “Revival Impetus.” The rebirth of the Impetus festival, a festival of diverse cultures and music, led by Moloco and Poudrière, along with key concert venues in Lausanne and the Swiss Jura, which made its mark from 2010 to 2019 with a focus on radicality. Concerts, performances, conferences, tastings, and more will be organized at the end of October and early November, at the Poudrière and off-site, featuring artists who have been part of the festival and more, according to the Poudrière director.
To coordinate this special year, working groups have been formed, including board members of Les Riffs du Lion, volunteers, and employees. The emphasis is on creating and rebuilding connections for the future, aiming to establish a strong presence as a contemporary music stakeholder in the region.
