French filmmaker Julien Royal brings a breath of fresh air to the French cinema scene with his first feature film, “Bagarre”. The story follows Naim, a kind beach attendant from Marseille with limited intellectual abilities but incredible physical strength. Naim ends up working for Allé Bagarre, a street fighting service. While the film may lack finesse at times and border on pure silliness, it shouldn’t be overlooked for its infectious energy and quick-witted dialogue. Nassim Lyes shines in the lead role as a naive hero full of testosterone. Get ready for a fight!
Starring Nassim Lyes, Anaïde Rozam, Ramzy Bedia, Audrey Lamy, Marina Foïs. In theaters on April 15th. Duration: 1h37
