More than 700 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025. Four people, including a child, were killed in an Israeli strike in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian territory’s civil defense on Tuesday, April 14. The region has been ravaged by two years of war between Israel and the Islamist Hamas movement. Several others were injured and taken to the hospital after an Israeli airstrike targeted a police vehicle in the city of Gaza, reported Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the emergency response organization operating under Hamas authority. The hospital confirmed receiving the victims’ bodies. The Israeli military, when contacted, stated that it is “verifying” this information.

Images from Gaza show Palestinians gathered around a man’s body, carrying it on a stretcher for his funeral in the rubble-filled streets of a city in ruins. Earlier on Tuesday morning, another Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli army fire in the town of Beit Lahia, about eight kilometers north of Gaza City, according to Mahmoud Bassal. Israel and Hamas accuse each other of violating the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, 2025, after two years of war triggered by a major Palestinian attack on Israeli soil on October 7, 2023. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which operates under Hamas authority and is considered reliable by the UN, at least 757 Palestinians have been killed since October 10. The Israeli military has reported five soldiers killed since the beginning of the truce.
