Netflix, the streaming giant, announced on Monday the release at the end of May of a new sports documentary series that retraces the career of Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal and his final year on the ATP circuit before retiring in 2024.

“His last opponent? His own body. The farewell of a legend, between peaks and doubts, at the heart of the Olympus of tennis,” summarized the American company on its social networks.

This documentary series, available on May 29, will delve into the life and successful career of the former world No. 1, holder of 22 Grand Slam titles, including 14 at Roland-Garros, until his retirement in November 2024, after years of battling injuries.

The release date will coincide with the 2026 edition of the Paris tournament and just five days before the 40th birthday of the king of clay.

This new content will enhance the streaming giant’s offerings, which have specialized in sports documentary series following the success of “The Last Dance,” “Formula 1: Drive to Survive,” and “Sunderland Till I Die.”
