Two groups will take the stage from 8 pm onwards: first up will be the Montpellier band Headkeyz followed by the music influencer Lucie Sue.
For the past three years, a musical event has been held to help pass the time for fans of Just’n fest, the autumn metal festival in Saint-Just. This Werock Up 2026, scheduled for Saturday, April 11 starting at 8 pm at Espace Brassens (*), is not just a temporary fix until October’s weekend.
A calmer alternative to Just’n fest
This event serves a dual purpose. “We always aim to allow the public to avoid waiting a year between two ‘Just’n fests’ by enjoying this well-equipped Brassens venue, but it’s also a musically calmer meeting, leaning towards rock. A more accessible musical style that appeals to the average person and may spark interest in discovering Just’n fest,” explain organizers Olivier Lasne and Nicolas Garand. Collaborating with the Werock Events association, Lunel’s version of the Just’n fest organizers, they have invited two groups: Lucie Sue and opening act Headkeyz.
A mix of styles
Headkeyz has previously performed in Lunel, at the intercommunal media library auditorium, and participated in the 2023 Just’n fest. “There are five members on stage, four men and one woman, delivering an energetic, festive rock show. Their style can be compared to Shaka Ponk,” comments Olivier Lasne. They will warm up the crowd at Espace Brassens before the headline act, Lucie Sue, a music influencer known for her YouTube covers of songs by other groups. “Until now, we mostly invited bands that had previously been to Just’n fest. This time we’re innovating by opting for a more open rock style that appeals to a wider audience,” says Nicolas Garand.
A bridge to Just’n fest
The organizers aim to provide a musical style that bridges the gap between rock and metal fans. “We are exploring tones that differ from current standard rock; it’s very heterogeneous. With Lucie Sue, we lean more towards Punk and Grunge with a Nirvana vibe. The songs can be rebellious. It’s not too aggressive but also not pop,” summarizes Nicolas Garand. Musically, Werock Up 2026 serves as a smooth transition towards Just’n fest.
Opening at 7 pm. Concerts from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. Light snacks and drinks available on-site. Entry fee: 20 €, advance tickets on werock.fr.
