Cahors, whose maintenance in Fedérale 1 is on track, moves this Sunday to the Layrac field after a bonus-point victory against Tulle.
With four rounds remaining in the regular phase, the Cadurciens have solidified their position in amateur elite. While nothing is definitive, the bonus-point victory over Tulle on Saturday has brightened the outlook.
A very positive result, combined with Oloron’s loss to Soustons, puts Cahors in a tie for the sixth qualifying spot. Oloron has one game in hand (at home against Nafarroa) but faces a challenging schedule. The Cadurciens are now eyeing a qualification opportunity.
To seize this opportunity, they must perform well at home (against Lourdes and Soustons) and secure points away. With two away matches, including one against Bagnères at the end of the month, their focus now turns to tomorrow’s short trip to Layrac, a team in pursuit of current ambitions.
However, Lot-et-Garonnais, after struggling to stay above the relegation line, find themselves in a difficult position today, second to last and in relegation territory.
Unable to rely solely on their postponed match against Bagnères on April 5, which is currently second in the standings, much of their fate in Fedérale 1 could be determined tomorrow.
The Cadurciens are aware of the demanding context and are urged to give their best. Co-manager Vincent Debaye warns, “We need to step up our game and make sure no one has regrets at the end of the season.”
“Ensure No Regrets at the End of the Season”
To avoid regrets, the Cadurciens must relieve the pressure on themselves and maintain a strong mentality. Balancing between securing maintenance and increasing their chances of qualification, this test of character is expected to attract numerous supporters at José Penetro Stadium.
Match at 3:30 PM. Referees: Mr. Sylvain Rameau (Nouvelle Aquitaine), Théo Dazet, Damien Defendi.
The Espoir team returned to victory against Tulle. However, their future is not certain. With four matches left, they may need three wins to secure a spot in the qualifiers. A victory tomorrow would put their fate in their own hands.
