Behind the success of Fatal Bazooka also hides a failed attempt. Because if the iconic character created by Michaël Youn marked the 2000s, a third album did indeed exist without ever being released! Not seen in the Morning Live show, Fatal Bazooka quickly became a phenomenon. From 2006, “Fous ta cagoule” invaded the charts, followed in 2007 by the album “T’as vu?”, featuring cult classics like “Mauvaise foi nocturne,” “Parle à ma main,” and “J’aime trop ton boule.” In 2010, Michaël Youn took it a step further with the film “Fatal,” which attracted over 1.2 million viewers in France and then, nothing.
Fatal Bazooka has not said its last word In an interview with “Première” in 2020, the actor had already hinted at this secret third album project. “Almost no one knew, but I tried to make another album with Fatal Bazooka,” he revealed. Initially enthusiastic, he thought he had something, as he later explained: “I was very happy after making it, and we started testing sounds, shooting a video. And it just didn’t work at all.” Why? “I realized that I was no longer in tune with the music. No longer able to parody it. For me, rap was still Booba and LMFAO, while everyone else had moved on to PNL and company. I was left behind,” he acknowledged with clarity.
Despite this failure, Michaël Youn has not given up on his character. In an interview with “Le Parisien” on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, on the occasion of the broadcast of the series “Flashback” on TF1 on April 9 at 9:10 pm, he even mentioned a strong comeback. When asked about a tour, he responded directly: “There are strong chances that Fatal Bazooka will go on tour throughout France and in French-speaking countries in 2027. But I don’t want to play in small venues. It will be in large venues, or it won’t happen.” And cinema is not left behind, as a new film is also in preparation! “The filming will take place this year, and the film should be released next year. I am very happy to rediscover this character, whom I will drag through the mud to bring out even more beautiful, grander, and stronger,” he declared to “Le Parisien.”
A comeback on all fronts Meanwhile, Michaël Youn continues to juggle projects, especially on television. He will soon be part of the cast of “Mask Singer,” an experience he seems to particularly enjoy. Indeed, he mentioned being “very happy” to try the experience again. “The producer called me back saying that this would probably be the best season ever. I said to him: ‘I guess you say that every year.’ He replied: ‘No, really, this year, you’ll see, it’s top level.’ And indeed, I was amazed. The hidden talents are impressive with an international star. It’s not Celine Dion, but she reaches new heights,” he concluded. This leaves us eager for more!
