On Tuesday, April 7, 68 elected officials gathered to elect the new president of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup intercommunal community.
With no other last-minute candidates coming forward, Jérôme Lopez, mayor of Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers and departmental councillor, was elected as the president of the intercommunality with an absolute majority (63 votes out of 68).
Fifteen vice-presidents were also appointed alongside the new president. In his speech, the new president paid tribute to Michèle Lernout, who decided to take a step back from Saint-Gilles life and intercommunal life. He also acknowledged Nathalie Mas-Raval, the general services director, and all intercommunal staff.
The president continued by mentioning Alain Barbe, a highly appreciated former president, and expressed his commitment to maintaining the excellence of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup community. The 15 vice-presidents were designated with a large majority.
The delegations will be further refined and presented at the next community council meeting on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the community hotel in Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers.
