As the global geopolitical context undergoes profound changes, transatlantic relations deteriorate rapidly, and conflict areas multiply, the balances within the European continent are being redrawn. The war led by Russia against Ukraine, the European budget framework for 2028-2034, the future of competitiveness and industrial policy of the Union, as well as the enlargement policy, are all issues that require common and coordinated responses.
In this context, what is the role of the Franco-German relationship in European politics and the international geopolitical situation? What is the vision of the presidents of the European Affairs commissions of the Bundestag and the National Assembly? What are the prospects for a Europe that is both sovereign and competitive?
