After just beginning their season, Olympique de Marseille faced a drama when Jonathan Rowe and Adrien Rabiot got into a physical altercation following a 0-1 loss to Rennes in their first match. This incident led to both players leaving for Italian clubs a few days later, with Rowe joining Bologna and Rabiot signing with AC Milan.
In an interview with the Corriere di Bologna, Rowe reflected on the incident, stating that he holds no grudge against his former teammate, saying, “We are adults, sometimes our emotions get the best of us, but we shake hands and move on.”
Rowe, who arrived at Marseille in August 2024, expressed his regret that the incident was not kept within the confines of the locker room, saying, “It may have happened to others, but it was not made public. Everything happens for a reason in life: ultimately, this incident brought me to where I am.”
After 28 matches in the league, Rowe and Bologna sit in 8th place in Serie A with 45 points, while Rabiot and AC Milan are in 3rd place with 63 points, battling with Naples for the 2nd spot with 65 points.
