The MFR has established a partnership with the Pau Support Group (GSC) dedicated to general administration and support for fighters. “Our young people will discover all trades, whether it be collective catering, automotive mechanics, management, payroll, etc.,” summarizes Florelle Pugnère, MFR director. “All civilian trades are transferable to the army, we have at least 170 different ones,” adds Emmanuelle Valdevit, pedagogical manager of a third-grade class involved in the defense class project. “We will work around trades related to our specialties, such as cynology, or the maintenance of green spaces held by the army, with very specific specifications,” specifies Florelle Pugnère.

This partnership will target approximately 160 students and learners from the MFR, from fourth grade to BTS. Every two weeks, the project leaders and the ten other teachers will offer activities, interventions, visits – a trip to Normandy is considered – according to the school program. “The army is committed to facilitating these interventions, especially by taking care of transportation,” the director mentions.

Professionally, this partnership presents an opportunity. “Our students will be able to do internships more easily in military structures since they will know how it works and who to contact. For those who want to work in the Landes department known for its opportunities in the military field, it’s a real chance. Especially since the army is recruiting a lot these days,” points out Florelle Pugnère.
