FAKE OFF – While the American army was exfiltrating one of its soldiers from Iran, fake images pretending to show this soldier circulated on social networks. From both pro-MAGA and pro-Iran sides
Described as an “extremely dangerous” military operation, with more than 150 aircraft mobilized, aided by the CIA… The exfiltration of the two American airmen who were ejected from their bomber on Friday, April 3, after it was shot down by an Iranian strike, required significant resources. The second pilot was finally rescued on Sunday after spending two days in the wild in Iran.
During the operations carried out by Washington and Tehran – a reward was promised – several false piecesof information were shared. On Sunday morning, early in the morning, this photo, which pretends to show one of the two captured American pilots by Iranian forces, was widely spread by pro-Iran accounts. The American pilot, still in military uniform, is surrounded by three soldiers.

However, several elements in this image are suspicious and suggest the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Take for example the Iranian soldier in the background behind the American pilot. At his stomach level, a beam of light can be seen appearing out of nowhere.
The man on the right also presents some suspicious elements. Firstly, his hand. It has exactly the same color as the uniform worn by the so-called American pilot. Second point: this soldier’s pants. At the top of his thigh, the printed camouflage is suddenly replaced by a brown fabric. Furthermore… (text continues)
