Christophe Beaugrand and Ghislain Gerin have a strong relationship. Married since July 28, 2018, they became parents of a little Valentin in November 2019, born through surrogacy in the United States. Since then, on social media and in the media, the two men do not hesitate to show their love and mutual admiration. They are also very proud of their role as parents. However, they also face harsh criticism related to their journey. Faced with some hateful messages, Christophe Beaugrand does not hesitate to react firmly. “Your remarks are disgusting! You are talking about a child, my child! You dare to refer to him as a ‘product’? You are pitiful. Insignificant. Pathetic. NEVER speak ill of my son,” he responded after receiving a comment from an internet user accusing him of “buying” his son.
Christophe Beaugrand and Ghislain Gerin: the truth about their meeting
The beginning of the relationship between Christophe Beaugrand and Ghislain Gerin was not so obvious. In 2024, in an interview with Paris Match, the host of Secret Story revealed the truth about their meeting, which had long been kept secret. “We used to pretend that it was through mutual friends, but in reality it was through an app. Ten years ago, it wasn’t yet common, so it was harder to admit,” he explained. Another factor that could have jeopardized their story was their age difference. “He was 21, I was 33, so I had doubts. Then I realized that he was older than me in his references,” he shared. Added to this was a complicated personal period for the host, where he didn’t see himself building a lasting relationship anymore. “I was at a point in my life where I had been in a long-term relationship and had been single for five or six years. I was trying to meet someone, it wasn’t working, and I had kind of given up on it*. It was at this moment that Ghislain came into my life, it seems that’s often how it happens,” he recounted on the show Ça commence aujourd’hui*.
How did Christophe Beaugrand propose to Ghislain Gerin?
Gradually, Ghislain Gerin reassured him. The age difference was not an obstacle after all, and Christophe Beaugrand quickly realized he wanted to build something serious with him. In 2016, he asked for his hand during a trip to New York, “on a bench”. “I wanted to get married. It’s very important,” he revealed in Gala in December 2021. The couple got married in July 2018 and chose to make the event public with a deliberate intention. “My husband Ghislain and I, that’s how we saw things: when we decided to share our marriage, to communicate about it, it was really with the goal of trying to change mentalities,” explained Christophe Beaugrand in Le Buzz TV on Le Figaro.
