On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, the municipality of Le Gua is offering several events in support of the fight against Charcot’s disease, at the initiative of the Charcot solidarity collective.

The mobilization will begin on Saturday, April 18 with a musical evening organized at the Rural Foyer. Entitled “José and his friends,” this evening will bring together the Swing 17 Trio for a musical moment dedicated to supporting research. Doors will open at 7:30 pm, with a limited capacity of 120 seats. The entrance fee is set at 10 euros. Reservation on Helloasso is required.

The following day, Sunday, April 19, the mobilization will continue with a solidarity march. Registration will start at 8:00 am at the football stadium, on the road to Nancras, for a departure scheduled at 9:00 am. The proposed route covers a loop of 10 kilometers, accessible to everyone. The participation fee is 10 euros, with registration and payment on-site. Upon arrival, a welcome is planned around a cup of coffee, extending this moment of gathering.

Charcot’s disease, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a serious neurodegenerative condition that leads to progressive muscle paralysis while leaving cognitive functions intact. Through these two complementary events, music and walking come together to support research and raise awareness about this disease, in a dynamic of local mobilization.
