On Thursday, March 5th, the Jacobins Church will host its final costumed evening before the permanent closure of the cultural event.

On Thursday, March 5th starting at 7 pm, three days before the closing of the exhibition at the Jacobins Church “French Lights, from the court of Versailles to Agen,” the last nocturnal event of this cultural event will take place. It will be a mysterious visit where each participant will be invited to wear a mask or even a costume in the style of the 18th century. A playful way to discover this national-interest event.

Intrigues of the court staged

On Thursday, February 26th, the penultimate nocturnal event was open for free to students. A handful of them enjoyed a guided tour by Nathalie Philemont-Lacroix, a mediator from the Museum of Fine Arts. Dressed in a beautiful robe from the Enlightenment period, this scholar, who clearly enjoys sharing her knowledge, mainly focused on the intrigues of the Versailles court under Louis XV.

The students ended the evening with a role-playing game where they had to imagine who could be their allies and enemies. Madame Du Barry once again allied with the Duke of Aiguillon to oust the Duke of Choiseul from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and replace him. The story unfolded…
