Emmanuel Macron to attend international summit in Lyon

French President Emmanuel Macron will officially be in Lyon on April 7 for an international summit. Amid the turmoil in the Middle East, Macron will be at the prefecture in the 3rd arrondissement and at the Lyon Convention Center for the “One Planet Summit” focused on the concept of “One Health,” which considers the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health.

Several foreign heads of state expected

Macron will preside over a day where other heads of state, government officials, and scientists are expected. He is the first president to confirm his attendance at this “high-level” summit.

At 11:30 next Tuesday, the French president will host counterparts at the Rhône prefecture, likely surrounded by tight security. He will then participate in a working meeting on global governance reform and attend a working lunch at the prefecture.

After the prefecture, the Convention Center

The presidential convoy will then head to the Lyon Convention Center at 3 pm at the Cité Internationale facing the Parc de la Tête d’Or. Macron will deliver the opening speech at the One Health Summit and participate in other meetings focusing on governance, science, communicable diseases, and non-communicable diseases.

The event is expected to conclude shortly before 7 pm next Tuesday.
