Context: French startup Aeroscale has integrated an American accelerator to launch its cycling performance sensor Wasted Watts Tracker.

A French startup specializing in cycling aerodynamics, Aeroscale, has been selected to join the prestigious Arkansas Global Cycling Accelerator (AGCA) 2026 cohort. Aeroscale, based in Meylan at the heart of Grenoble’s technological ecosystem, is the only French representative among the ten innovative companies chosen this year, alongside startups from Canada, Norway, and Belgium. The company’s recognition highlights its onboard system, the Wasted Watts Tracker, designed to measure cyclists’ power losses in real conditions.

The Wasted Watts Tracker is considered a significant innovation in high-level cycling. Developed by Aeroscale, this onboard measurement system, equipped with patented sensors, quantifies and analyzes a cyclist’s energy losses in real time based on two key factors: aerodynamic drag (CdA) and rolling resistance (Crr). By providing this data directly on the field, the tool aims to help riders, coaches, and teams make faster and more rational decisions to optimize positioning, equipment choices, or effort strategy. Founded in 2020 by Manuel Sellier, a doctor in microelectronics, Aeroscale has already assisted over 100 athletes, including professionals, triathletes, and para-athletes, who have seen significant performance gains.

Fact Check: Aeroscale aims to expand internationally and establish a pilot network of distributors and partner teams in the United States with the help of AGCA.

In Bentonville, the Arkansas Global Cycling Accelerator has emerged as a major player for young technological companies in the cycling sector. The 2026 program will begin in early April with weekly virtual sessions and culminate in an intensive week in Bentonville in June, running in conjunction with two major cycling events in the United States. Aeroscale will showcase its solution at a public Demo Day on June 10.

Fact Check: Wasted Watts Tracker’s commercial launch is imminent, starting with a Kickstarter campaign in the first quarter of 2026.

Aeroscale’s entry into the market aims to make technology previously reserved for wind tunnel or velodrome testing accessible to WorldTour teams and demanding amateur cyclists at a launch price below 2,500 TTC. Interested individuals can track the project’s progress on the dedicated website.
