Jason Momoa’s Path to Success
Jason Momoa wasn’t a global celebrity when he landed the role of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. But it wasn’t his first time on screen. He had previously played a lifeguard in Baywatch and the warrior Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis. However, it was his role as Daenerys’ imposing husband that brought him into the spotlight before his character’s departure after the first season.
What few people know is what followed. Jason Momoa revealed to InStyle magazine that he went through three particularly challenging years after Game of Thrones: no roles, no income, drowning in debt. “It’s very tough when you have kids and you’re completely in debt. After Game of Thrones, we were literally starving,” he confessed. But everything turned around for him when he portrayed Aquaman. This global success helped him recover and stay grounded. Projects then came one after the other: the series Frontier, then See, and finally Dune.
A Celebrity with a Big Heart
Despite his box office hits, Jason Momoa remains humble. Like many celebrities, he participates in paid events to meet fans. There is a fan who shared their encounter with him and the star’s gesture.
In a wheelchair, Elizabeth wanted a photo with him. Jason Momoa offered to carry her. To which the young woman responded, “I’m a bit heavy.” “It’s okay, I’m pretty strong,” he replied. A simple yet praised gesture for his humanity.
The Actor and His Loved Ones Escaped Disaster
More recently, his name resurfaced for a different reason. Spending a large part of the year in Hawaii with his partner, actress Adria Arjona, Jason Momoa faced a violent storm on the island of Oahu. Faced with landslides, uprooted trees, and rapidly rising waters, the couple had to evacuate urgently.
On Instagram, the actor shared a video of the situation, saying: “We are safe now, but many people are not.” While no casualties were reported, several injuries were noted. This message reassured the fans. Aquaman is unstoppable.
